Kindle not available in Canada anymore?

Peter Cornwell Jan 30, 2013 01:29PM EST

My kindle sub was stopped because it was announced that we no longer deliver Kindle to Canada.
Is it indeed the case that the Kindle edition can’t be sold to Canadians?

Thanks!

Peter-

An Amazon Kindle subscription is sold through Kindle Newsstand. The latest information I have is that Kindle Newsstand is only available in the USA (amazon.com) and the UK (amazon.co.uk).

We would love to have our Kindle edition available in Canada, but there is no Kindle Newsstand available at amazon.ca (Amazon in Canada).

So, our Kindle Edition was never available for distribution in Canada through amazon.ca and this is not of our doing, but how things are set-up by Amazon. We have yet to receive any information if Amazon is planning to do this/when.

I am not sure how you were getting the Kindle Edition, unless somehow you signed up through Amazon.com (USA) or Amazon.co.uk (UK). We've heard of a few international customers doing this and maybe Amazon is cracking down?

Hope this helps.
